Hi lsp, welcome to Silkysteps :cheerful:
Done a quick search for this and came up with a recommendation that researching up to 5 Chronic illnesses would give good information to build the answer on. Look into the details of how each impacts on the lives and surroundings of everyone involved. How the illness may affect the Child's development, their ability to take part in day to activities and what planning / considerations would have to be taken into account so that they have access to all the services on offer. Chronic Physical Illness - from Royal College of Psychiatrists Quote:
A list of Chronic illnesses in children - NB: These are just a few ... Arthristis : Asthma : Cystic Fibrosis : Diabetes : Eczema : Epilepsy : Sickle Cell : Psoriasis A Comprehensive A - Z list of illnesses (not just Chronic) can be found on ChildrenFirst.nhs.uk This USA site has very good explanations, list of Illnesses deemed Chronic and great information on helping understand things from the Child's point of view - Children with Chronic conditions Please be aware that any information/statistics/links/claims/research/findings /organisation details and more from outside of the UK will not come under the same rules, regulations, verification processes, debates, issues of development .. and ..probably much more !!
