Hi, this relates to the way your setting monitors children's emotional well-being.

Page 60 of this book identifies the Key Person system as being important in monitoring & considering children's development and how a child's key person uses information to feed back to parents and also to the team in the setting.

Planning play and activities help practitioners to observe children and assess the stage of their well-being.

Co-key person and buddying: In some settings, where members of staff work part time or where children have a long day in the setting, it isusual foir a buddying or co-key person system to be in place. This means that children may have two adults who act as key persons and so, when one is off on annual leave or on a break, the other key -person can take over.

Do you have anyone that monitors Transitions and the impact they have on individual children in your setting?

Page 64 looks at what emotional well-being involves so you might be able to see the ways your setting monitors it.

Best wishes xx
