Hi, depending on your course and the level you're taking, if it helps, England's level 3 EYE handbook states on page 166 All adults working with children have a statutory duty of care to safeguard children, and children's welfare is paramount.


Definition of duty of care: A requirement to exercise a reasonable degree of attention and caution to avoid negligence which would lead to harm to other people.
page 143 cache level 3 cypw handbook.

There is also good, supportive reading for duty of care and how it might relate to your setting practice in the SHC34 unit on pages 40+ of the preview (search for duty of care)
