Hello Jenna

I am on currently working on this unit too, its not easy make sense of the criteria is it?

I have explained that CP is an element of safeguaring and part of the bigger picture that is safeguarding, and that child protection is action taken to protect children and young people in specific circumstances, I have given examples of some circumstances, i.e. a child from a family where there is domestic abuse evident.

I have wrote about other ways in which we safeguard in the wider concept and detailed the importance...this comes in in the next outcome: understand the importance of working in partnership with other organisations to safeguard children and young people.

Hope this makes sense!!

Hiya :) thankyou for your reply!
I am so sooo confused on this question. The book has limited info on this question aswell which isnt helpful.
What other ways do we safeguard in a wider concept though..?

derynjoe 04-11-2011 07:54 PM

Other ways in which we safeguard include
Risk assessments, providing safe environment/resources inside and out
Adhering to policy, procedure and legislation. i.e. Health and safety - fire drills, missing children.
Keeping our training up to date.
Encouraging learning and development.
Assessment observation to identify addition support needs. (CAF)
Working together making referrals.

Theres so much!!
