Hi, 8 factors are noted in the heinemann candidate handbook.

List the factors for assessing childrens development.

Assessing children and young people's needs has to be done sensitively and accurately. There are a number of factors to be considered.

1. Confidentiality and consent
2. Children's wishes and feelings
3. Ethnic, linguistic and cultural background
4. Disability or specific requirements
5. Reliability of information
6. Avoiding bias
7. Open and closed recording methods
8. Mixing methods of observation, technique, ways of collection
