Book Review: Teeny Weeny Tadpole ~ Sheridan Cain ~ Jack Tickle
Teeny Weeny Tadpole ~ Sheridan Cain ~ Jack Tickle
A beautifully illustrated book and great storyline perfect for a Lifecycle, Spring or Amphibian theme !! Follow the Teeney Weeny Tadpole as he meets lots of creatures that can already hop & jump ... in turn they each end there message to Tweeny Weeny Tadpole with the assurance that one day he too will be able to :D Big, bright and bold pictures make this an excellent resource for toddlers as well as older children. ******************************* A traditional craft way to make frogspawn for a wall/plate display is to use Bubble wrap. With a permanent marker, draw on the spawn eggs on each bubble. Explain to the children that this is the 'egg that grows into a tadpole and then the tadpole turns into a frog! Tadpoles can be made with clay or black/dark brown plydough. roll the moddelling material into a ball and then ethier pinch out a tail or roll another small sauge shape ~ flatten it then attach it to the ball for the tail. Create eyes with a pencil nib or modelling tools and slice a mouth with the edge of a ruler or knife (adult to use !!) |
