Polystyrene breaks down into tiny almost weightless pilules or beads and if swallowed / inhaled are an asphyxiation risk. Please asses the activity to check for areas of damage to the resource and ensure levels of supervision to prevent any threat of obstruction to children's airways. The model can be prepared with a coating of varnish, paint, or collaged with paper to contain it and minimise the risk of breakage or can be utilised for paper mache masks - tissue paper and pva glue. Cover with clear plastic food wrap, cover with a paper and glue layer and then once dry masks can be lifted from the head and explored in a similiar way to the original model.

Additional resources to extend - mirror, outline, paper and tools for self expression.

Please add on with other activity ideas ..
