Sounds great. I once did a similar board. We mixed sand with yellow paint then got the children to paint a large sheet of backing paper for the sand. Then blue backing paper for the sea with blue see through plastic (not sure what it's called but ours came on a roll) over the top scrunched up to give the effect of the sea. We stuck some of the creatures under the blue plastic so it looked like they were under the water.

Jellyfish are great to do - a big blob of paint then lots of tissue streamers:cheerful:

I know it's a bit late but we have just made a lovely sea background by painting blue, white and green paint onto pieces of bubble wrap and then using it to print onto lining paper. It looks fab behind our paper plate fishes (Creative steps july/aug issue)

sounds cool, our display board is very textural and is great to look at and for the children to feel as well. i used glitter, sand paper, beach towel, and got the children to glue and stick the sea using blue see through stuff and then i put on all their work which was like crabs and sea side creatures etc.
