I've just finished a similar assignment for
Quote:

4.3 Analyse how working in partnerships:
Enhances children's learning and development
Value parents/carers' contributions
I wrote alot about the partnerships of multi-agency working, how this allows inclusion due to special needs being met and understood.
A little snippet from a bit of my assignment:
Quote:

For example, a child has Autistic spectrum disorder which effects them with speech delay, communication difficulties and behaviour issues, the child will have several multi-agency partnerships working to support them and the family. These could include parents, early years setting staff, speech therapist, play specialist, makaton support worker, behaviour support worker and 1:1 support during the setting sessions, family support worker. The communication between the different professionals working together must be clear and progress monitored with targets and plans reviewed regularly. All this working together will support the child in their development.
Hope thats of some help.

Hi, page 258 of this level 3 handbook states

Quote: 4.4 Working with others to mneet children's additional needs

(You'll need to refer back to the unit that looked at the importance of partnership working so you can use it alongside this and be able to evaluate)

Partnership working is often used to support children with additional nbeeds where a child is not showing expected development or is showing significant signs of emotional insecurity, children will need targetted support. Other professioanls, such as speech and language therapists and psychologists, will be able to identify what the child needs and so, by working with them, we will be able to support children more effectively. While referring to other professionals can often help children with additional needs, it is essential to remember that you are not allowed to refer children to another service without parental permission. This can sometimes befrustrating for practitioners who can clearlky see that a child has a need and the parent refuses for the child to be referred. The only exception to this legal requirements is where a child is at serious risk of harm. There are also other principles of working in partnership that we looked at (in a prewvious unit) listed here:
  • confidentiality
  • respect for other's way of working
  • regognition that other professionals may not share our aims or way of working
  • accuracy of information
  • punctuality in terms of attending meetings or providing information.
Pages 142+ of this handbook explores each of these in better depth, search inside the amazon book preview and search for the words 'principles of partnership' then click to page 143.

Hope this helps xx
