Nursery Rhyme: The Wise Old Owl

A wise old owl - Origins and some historic information can be found on this page of Rhymes.org

The Wise Old Owl Lived in an Oak
The more he saw the less he spoke.
The less he spoke the more he heard
Can we be like that wise old bird :cheerful: !

The original last line is upposed to be: Why can't we all be like that wise old bird ?
Depending on how you feel about the rhyme, use which ever version best suits you !

I like this rhyme, the wording demonstrates how when we learn, see and hear about things going on with & around us the less we speak in general about them, in turn allowing us the opportunity to hear even more ..
