Nvq 3 Help!!!

Hi there,

I am new to this site and was hoping for some ideas and direction whilst finishing my NVQ 3 CCLD!
I have to explain observations, assessment and planning cycle (early years) to my assessor on monday morning, I know it but feel i need confirmation!! always struggle to put these things into words!! Any help greatly appreciated!
I know its a three week cycle and why we do it, is that all I need t say??:banghead:

it isnt a 3 week cycle it should be daily at the most weekly. your observations should note the childs interest and passions and influence what you decide to put out the next day.

Thanks, i know this but am confused by my supervisor mentioning a 3 week cycle, just worried about getting muddled with the assessor tommorow!!
is this correct cycle!! OBSERVATION, look listen note Describing.....ASSESSMENT,analysing observations and deciding what they tell us about children...................PLANNING, what next? experiences&opportunities, learning environment, resources, routines, practioners role.
:frown:

mine goes like this....plan, implement, observe, support and extend, record, evaluate and reflect..and back to plan.
so in other words you use your observations to plan, you put into practice your plans and evaluate them as they are in action, then you either extend or improve them if they are not working, then record, evaluate and reflect on them. We do ours on a weekly basis, but will change activities if they are not working well, popular or if the children are using them in a different way, we extend their play.
hope that helps.

yep you should always start with observing the children their passions and needs are the root to the planning.
