unit 306 outcome 1.6 EYE Level 3
 
Hi

I'm a little stuck on this outcome the question is

Explain how play opportunities and educational programmes can be implemented through
A - adult led activities
B - child initiated activities
C - physical play activities

I just don't know where to start really

Any help would be appreciated thank you

Hi, a warm welcome to the site, page 164 of this level 3 handbook helps with this.

Consider the different activities that happen in your setting, the age and stages of development your children re at and the choice of resources that are available to them. Best Play is a publication that helps to explore what play is and how the areas of your setting support those different types.

Adult-led activities are where the adult plans, organises and shows or tells the children what they need to do. For example, in my setting, we have circle time regularly where we play musical games such as Hokey Cokey or Ringa Ringa Roses. We explain to the children what to do and how to play. The adult-led play is very important with babies as well. We could play peek-a-boo or stack up some beakers or blocks for the children to knock down. Adult led play is very important and beneficial as it allows the children to carry out activities that they would not be able to manage by themselves. With the help of an adult, the children can do many activities safely for example, in my setting we sometimes do cooking or some types of art and crafts where equipment such as knives or scissors are used, which would not be safe for children to use alone. By doing these types of activities we will be able to teach children how to use the equipment. Adult-led activities are also useful for the children because through these activities they can learn specific skills and concepts. For example, in my setting, we like to play board games using dice and numbered cards. When we are playing a board game with the children, they sometimes start to recognise numbers on the dice and start to count.
