These are a few more links that can help look at how to plan for a positive environment ..

Positive Learning Environments in Schools - this is a Canadian site but has some excellent bullet points for looking at what can contribute towards positive places of learning !!

It's an interesting question, bit like interior decorating in that if you have any area that needs to be inhabited .. what do you fill it with ?

and if it's already in use does it create a positive feeling to it's users and is it practical when in use ? .. to look at an area that seems to be working well already .. is there a flexibility that can built in so that the area can be diversified into something completely different ...and what would need to happen or be changed to achieve that ?

This introduction on beyond bullying is good for knowing why planning and drafting up ideas beforehand is important .. - Positive Learning Environments

Good Luck and let us know what else you find out ..

Chantelle what factors have you already got listed ?

If you jot those down here maybe we can throw around some more ideas ..

Are you able to contact your tutor via email or on the telephone to ask him/her for some help/handout sheets that can help you with this ?
