shaving foam and dinosaurs
My assesser is coming in tomorrow and i have ri the activity past her. Can some one please give me ideas on what sorts of questions (open ended) i could ask the children and how else i can use this activity to extend their learning. i though i would do this as it helps with sensory development and the dinosaurs:sigh: are their interests at the moment. can someone please help as need this ready tomorrow morning and i am very stuck thanks in advance.

Hi, blocks would be handy for building in the foam and help extend the activity's 'landscape possibilities xx
Questions could involve .. 'What are all these? 'Who has played with them before 'Which is the biggest 'Where is the smallest 'How can the smallest be the tallest? 'Noises a dinosaur makes - loudly, quietly whispering 'What does this dinosaur eat? 'What does that dinosaur eat? 'How can we find food for our dinosaurs to eat? 'What is in the cans? 'What do you think it'll feel like? 'How can it get from the can to the table top? 'What does it feel like? 'One squirt? two? one per dinosaur to stand in? a large squirt for 7 dinosaurs to be in? a huge swamp of foam for all dinosaurs to wade through? You could write the letters of your name in the foam, say proudly what you've done and invite guessing the individual letters/sounds and children's own markmaking. Celebrate any that the children initiate for themslves :) 'What is the dinosaurs name? storybooks to support this - dinosaur themed on silkysteps, agreeing bob, annie and paul is good :D Explore which has wings for flying Long necks for tree top grazing Big teeth for hunting Long legs for running Spines for armour Where the interest is already dinosaurs making a volcano google search is also fun  Hope this helps, have a great time xx |
