play coins ?

Can I ask what age you introduce play money safely ? I cannot find any suitable for children under 3s on the Internet, which leads be to believe that 3 and over is the age but my playgroup had some out today when they were playing shop. The children there are from aged 2, most of the coins were really small ie size of a one pence piece.

maybe also look at the concept of currency, values & make your own demonination with the children, or for the setting?

Cut discs of card & cover with gold, silver & bronze foil, if the tills ordinarily used in shop role play are too small for the new units use calulators and baskets?

On a side note, this is a good site for the leanrning involved with money https://www.ncetm.org.uk/resources/25170

Hth best wishes
