203 K2T1112 0-3 Transitions
Hello can some one help me with transitions for 0-3 year olds please
I dont work with this age so struggling :dizzy: |
-Visits to the new room, to the setting with the parents/carers before child is left on their own.
-Photo boards and visual displays of the new room or book for parents to take home to make the new surroundings seem familiar. -New teacher come in and play with the children so that a relationship begins. -Ensure you know about child’s background, toys they like etc so you can have out appropriate equipment on their first day. -Don’t rush the separation process-some children may need extra visits, shorter session times that increase over time etc. hope this helps a bit. |
Thank you that helps

losing a pet having a sibling toilet training changing setting changing room new nanny new childminder losing your blankey! most have nothing to do with the setting |
If you were a childminder perhaps it would be separation from the parent for first time. The parent could make this transition easier by leaving some toys with you that the child is familiar with or favourite blankey etc.
