Hi
I'm currently on this unit. CYP 3.3 3.1 please can you help:hissyfit: Task 2 Create a leaflet for parents to explain the concept of safeguarding. Any help on what i can put on this leaflet please.... Task 3 What is a serious case review? Why would a serious case review be undertaken? Give an example of how a serious case review has informed and changed safeguarding practices? |
look into the children's act 2004 every child matters this might give you some ideas or the Death of Victoria Columbie. These would be good examples of why there are serious case reviews and will explain what a serious case review is.

. The importance of partnership working runs through every aspect of safeguarding from government legislation to local working. It is important we communicate and co-operate with agencies or groups involved in the welfare of a child/ young person to promote the well being. Partnership working in every context means different organisations working together such as state funded bodies and businesses. In the context of safeguarding it means establishing and abiding by guidelines and working within the law, especially with the regard to the protection of children. The most new development to help agencies and professionals to share information is the (CAF) common assessment framework system this enables multi agencies to access and add information about a child’s needs |
thank you both soooooo much, so quick in the response!!Love Chocolate:With love:

A serious case review will always be undertaken when a child dies, and when abuse or neglect is the suspected cause of a child’s death. The local safeguarding children board (LSCB) will also consider whether a serious case review should be conducted where a child has been seriously injured through abuse or neglect or been subjected to a serious sexual assault. and they are done to see what areas can be improved, look at baby p case for example and talk about the outcome of that case.
