Core Unit 3.6 Task 2

I have been asked to write a report that highlights my concern over the security at my setting especially at drop off and pick up times when parents can leave gates open and let strangers in. I need to highlight my concern over the practices at my setting and possible consequences and outlines some measures to ensure no child can escape and not be missed at my setting. I need to include:

An introduction
The main part of the report
Conclusions
Recommendations

I am struggling with what to write as I work as a childminder in my own home and not in a nursery setting. Can anyone help please?

:worried:

Hi,
Perhaps the last bit you mentioned can be your main concern, as it's not a nursery setting but a home you probably don't have the security measures nurseries or schools do, such as, coded doors or security gates etc. Another concern could be that because it is a home do you get unexpected callers? Or anything that can be seen as a threat to the children in your care or the environment?

So start with an introduction, what the report will be about, then into the main section with concerns regarding practice along with the consequences... have you experienced any scares regarding security? What policies and procedures do you follow to overcome these? Do you get support or guidance from the local authority? How does your daily practice in relation to security differ to mainstream settings etc. Next is your conclusion, summarise and round up your findings and what you have put into the report. Finally recommendations can be anything you may have referred to in the report: policies, procedures, guidance, legislations etc.

Hope this helps a little
