indicators of a child being in need of additional support

Hi guys, I have written about the obvious things like noticing their speech and language, also if they are delayed in their trackers but, I don't know what else to write about because I have never really dealt with additional needs as my key group have none so, I feel like that I have nothing to go off also, I feel like I am not writing enough for this question and would like abit of support !

TIA Guys! xx

Hi, observations that notice a child's participation, language, communication and behaviour, written records/trackers and information provided by parents - changes to family structure, bereavement, transitions, health are good indicators of children who may need additional support.

Have you gone into detail about the specific information your trackers capture?

There is also guidance on pages 13+ of the Working together to safeguard children 2015 that states:

Professionals should, in particular, be alert to the potential need for early help for a child who

• is disabled and has specific additional needs
• has special educational needs;
• is a young carer;
• is showing signs of engaging in anti social or criminal behaviour;
• is in a family circumstance presenting challenges for the child such as substance abuse, adult mental health problems and domestic violence
• has returned home to their family from care and/or is showing early signs of abuse and/or neglect

My tutor marked my work and asked me how would I go about adapting resources and approaches to provide additional support so far I have put something along the lines of - this be getting help off certain support agencies and putting in place what they tell me to do and using strategy's that they suggest and implement them ? Is this on the right lines ?
TIA GUYS xx
