planning and decision making
Does anybody have any examples of how parents can contribute to planning/decision making?
Thankyou |
HI Natalie
Parents can contribute by telling you of their childs interests, what they did on holiday/over the weekend, you can then build on that experience within the setting. Decision making can be helped by, if you are planning to change anything within the setting you could send out a questionaire to the parents asking for thier thoughts on this issue, you can then make a decision based on the response. Hope this helps. Kerrie |

Don't forget if you working in a committee run setting, parent/carers will be helping in planning and decision making.
Even if you are not a committee run setting you may have a committee of sorts for fundraising etc and if you are a school there is the pta - to involve parents in planning and decision making - even if it's just 'certain parts'. Parents also take part in their child's iep - if a child has special needs the Senco, Area Senco and team work with the parents who are included in the planning and decision making for their child's programme of learning, help given etc. |
Thankyou Heidi and Kerrie :With love:
