Supporting teaching and learning in schools Level 3

Hi everyone
I'm new to this site and found the information to be very informative so far so I hope someone can help me. Here goes i'm doing supporting teaching and learning in schools level 3. I am stuck on this question and would be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. The question is: Demonstrate how to report and record information formally and informally in the appropriate way for the audience concered. Thanks in advance

I would be inclined to say that this is something observable and has to be done in your setting and assessed by your tutor as it has the word demonstrate in it.

You could use a reflective account of an incident where a child has approached you, maybe some other child said something to him that you knew you had to report to someone senior in authority, the discussion you would have with the child and the other child. This would be informal because you would be then explaining the rights & wrongs of the scenario, you would then go to a senior teacher & explain to them what had just happened, this would be your formal side of the conversation.

Hope that helps a little.......

Hi goingmad
That's what I thought but my tutor wants me to write about it as well.
Thank you for your reply.

Hi,

I can't remember what i did for the informal side, but for formal my tutor observed me doing reading records. If your tutor wants you to write about it, can you not explain how you would record information when you have listened to a reader and then photocopy a blank sheet as evidence.

Sorry i dont have my folder anymore as i have completed my nvq.

If you have been observed on this question then your assessor will have wrote something about what she observed you doing. But its also a good idea to have a reflective account to reinforce your knowledge of the situation and how you are able to record information formally & informally.
