Would some please help me with this question its unit 3.10 task 1,3

Its asking me to explain why it is important to collect information other than by observation in order to analyse children's play preferences

Any ideas to get me started would be great thank you.

Don't forget parental involvement - by speaking, exchanging and sharing information with parents, you'll get a much better idea of a child's interests and preferences.
