I have two assignments left to do in my course work and this is one of them!!
As a carr and a governer at a primary school i thought it would be a good idea to do this as an option to help my knowledge improve but finding information on some of the questions is proving difficult. Can anyone help me please?! Ive done 1.1 and 1.2 so help on questions 2. Understand the role of individuals and agencies in improving attendance of children and young people in statutory education 3) Be able to use attendance data to inform strategies and plans to improve attendance of children and young people in statutory education. and 4) Be able to support work with children, young people and families to improve attendance according to role and responsibilities. would be gratefully recieved Thanks in advance |
Hi, a warm welcome to silkysteps
from the CYPOP 43 Improving attendance of CYP in Statutory education unit .. Different agencies may include: Education Welfare Social Services Police Individuals may include: school staff including Behaviour and Education Support Teams (BEST) education welfare staff children’s social workers families and carers Strategies may include: linking improved attendance to whole school performance engaging the support of families and carers identifying ‘at risk’ pupils and providing appropriate support providing appropriate parenting support if required There is a large section dedicated to attendance on education.gov.uk and this recent article highlights some controvertial strategies - huffington post Attendance data will be the information that your specific setting collects and how they use it to support the children and any life events or circumstances that might be involved. Role of a govenor from NGA.org.uk is good reading for linking possible responsibilities to your school's attendance work Hth, best wishes |
