I'm stuck on KSD217

I'm stuck on KSD217 - Detailed knowledge and understanding about children and young peoples expected patterns of development.

To those who have done it do I do a detailed section for each age group?

This unit is driving me nuts and I have lost motivation at the moment and my brain seems to stop whenever I work on it!!!

hi Vik3000, im glad im not alone i have felt exactly the same with this unit i have avoided it for that long that its now the only one i have to crack on with, and cant seem to get head around it. My assessor set me this to do over hols she has not seen it yet but basically there is such alot to cover i felt i would be typing forever and only really copying out developmental charts from books anyway, so i have photocopied the charts from two text books as it is only to show knowledge not performance and i also cross referenced a couple of reflective accounts to the knowlede point of when i have referred to the child being at the right developmental stage and what the next expected pattern of development i expected to see, and different levels of communication depending on intellectual development and the age of the child. Sorry for waffling, hope that helps.

I would agree with busybee....use your reflective knowledge and understanding of how children are expected to progress developmentally. Link these to charts which you can put as an appendix to your assignment...it is your understanding of how children develop that your tutor is interested in...make it real...use case studies...asking parental permission first of course!
Good luck!
