fundraising booklets

Hi
One of our playgroup committee members has come up with the idea of printing a booklet twice a year to sell in order to raise funds. We were thinking of a spring/summer and autumn/winter edition and including things like local places to visit, messy play activities, recipes, words of songs we sing at playgroup, colouring pages, competitions, wordsearch, websites etc.
Has anyone ever done one of these or does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Clare

Fundraising booklet.

Where i work used to work we did something very similar. Our book covered the local area as well as what was going on in the nursery. It started off with information on how thing were going at the nursery and had a few pictures etc:, then it wet on to talk about the local area and places of interest to childrena dn parents. We included forthcoming events and had special offers say to the local farm or family theme park. The whats on guide was great really informative parents were saying. One of the parents even asked if if was possible to do an add for her childrens clothes shop and put that in it so she sponsored us, along with a few other local companies who we contcted. Because we were now being sponsored for some of the information going into the booklet we were able to charge parents a smaller fee for taking it home. we charged only 50pence. sadly someone took note of our idea and made their own booklet which they sent to all nnurseries in the areas so we ditched ours.

Perhaps of you could add something that the children have done then more parents would buy it.
