Hi, page 285 of the new Level 2 Diploma handbook explores this

There are a range of people who work together to make it easier for children to prepare for school.

Parents: it is important parents are involved in preparing their children for school. They might need practical advice anbout how they can help their children gain the self-care skills at home that make starting school easier.

Parents might have concerns about their child's need, so it is a good idea to pass these concerns to the Reception teacher.

School staff: Most schools have a transition policy. Many Reception teachers visit children ion their early years settingd so that children can get to know them. Visits to the school are also part of the transition process. As well as the Reception teacher, teaching assistants might also0 be involved in helping the transition.

Other professionals: Sometimes children might have additional needs, such as disability or medical needs. Professionals that work with them in addressing this need might also help with the transition. This could include: Occupational therapists working with children who have mobility issues.
speeech and language therapists working with children who have speech, language and communcication difficulties.

By working together, parents, the early years setting, professionals and the school can work out how best to support the child.

Hope this helps xx
