types of homes

when you're doing a topic on homes don't forget all the different types of homes there are
include travellers in your list and add a caravan - this will help children to understand that this is a home too and not always a negative item as seen in the media
traveller homes are often very beautiful and lots of ornate decoration, cut glass mirros and china

circus children are travellers and so are gypsy children and those who travel with the fairground

so if you have these children in your setting - its a really positive message to include thier home in any topic you do about homes

homes is also a more inclusive term as not everyone lives in a house - so the word houses as a topic actually excludes a large number of children including bargees

what about some poor people in Africa that live under black plastic sacks and cardboard boxes with only 1 water tap for goodness knows how many?
