Page 73 of the Early Years Practitioner book explains confidentiality: Confidentiality All early years settings need to keep a certain amount of information about children, their families and the staff who work there. This means that they have a responsibility to keep this information secure, whether it is stored in filiing cabinets or on IT systems. All early years settings ahould have a confidentiality policy, which outlines what the setting and individual staff need toi do to ensure that information is kept safe. Page 278/9 explores the 5.3 criteria: Explain the reasons for confidentiality and security when maintianing and storing records
