Hi everyone!!

Hope all your courses are going well.

Im abit stuck on CYP3.3, any help would be much appreciated!!

CYP3.3
Unit 025/Assignment 026
Task A, Section 1- The main current legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures within own UK home nation for Safeguarding children and young people. (REF 1.1)

This is some of my answer so far, any comments as to whether im on the right track, whether my examples so far are correct and if you can think of any more examples, all would be great! im also going to summaries briefly each legislation, guidline and policy and procedure i have mentioned.

The main current legislation for safeguarding children and young people are:
- Children Act 1989
- The Children Act (Every child matters) 2004
- Protection of Children Act 1999
- Data protection Act 1998
- Safeguarding vunerable group Act 2006
- Sexual offences Act 2003
- Criminal justice and court services Act 2000
- Equalities Act 2010
- Data protection Act 1998 non-statutory guidance
- United Nations Convention on the rights of the child

The main current guidelines for safeguarding children and young people are:
- Working together to safeguard children
The main current policies and procedures for safeguarding children and young people are:
- Child Protection Policy

Task A, Section 2- An explanation of child protection within the wider concept of safeguarding children and young people. (REF 1.2)

(Again, not much clue ???? mainly confused about how to actually go about answering this one, anyone got like an example of just how they started this off, would be fantastic!)

hi i think you need to write a bit about each act as well for safeguarding in the wider sense it is about all kinds of safety for the children health and safety risk assessments hygiene and any other policies you use to protect children hope this is a bit helpful on this assignment myself at the moment so hope i have done it right as well but had a lot of help from the lovely people on this site :wave:

HI i'm also struggling on how to word my answer to
Look at the policy for safeguarding & bullying within own setting.How does it protect children and adults on a day to day basis? How does policy work in line with legislation you have researched?
Feel really dumb on this , i have listed all policies covered by safeguarding and what they do but cannot find legislation on bullying!

we have an anti bulying policy in our setting but you could say this and then give an example of what one would say if you had one. If you google bullying policies then you will get an idea of what would be in one :wave:
