Dark Theme

Our next theme is going to be the dark, things that come out in the dark etc. we have an area that i am going to make into a dark, sensory area. i've got some black material to drape from the ceiling with some fairy lights.

was wondering if anybody has done anything along these lines before and would like to share some ideas.

Excellent activity :D

How about a few noctural soft toys to sit in there?

Could you get a few of those stars that glow in the dark too? The ones that are luminous after exposure to light - do you know the ones I mean?

Spacekraft have a dark den accessories kit (Don't waste money on the den as it tears). This includes the dynamo torches, LED ducks, mushrooms, square, dolphin, dice, flashing heart etc. I'm sure lots of other firms do them too.

Great idea - and how about using them to make shadows using card templates or hands onto a wall space.

Do you know anyone who is buying a new fridge or washing machine? You could lay it on its side, drape dark, heavy fabric over and create a dark cave???

er, wouldn't that be a bit dangerous? Do we want to encourage children to climb into fridges and washing machines? Unless you mean the box..... ?
