008 get a book called understanding child development linking theory to practice by jennie lindon. it will have all you need in it

005 the unicef site has very simple explanations of the points. then use the nspcc site

these units need a lot of research and reading

Hi,

For 008 you might want to read up on John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth. relating to attachment also Schaffer and Emerson as these did key studies on attachment.

For 005, I would make a poster (A3 for example) and explain each of the following pieces of childcare legislation:

•United Nations Convention Act (UNCRC)
•Children’s ACT 1989
•Children’s Act 2004
•Children’s Act 2006
•Every Child Matters
•Safeguarding and Protecting Children 2004
•Childcare Act 2006
•Race Relations Act 2000
•Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001 (SENDA)
•Education Act 2002
•Data Protection Act 1998
•Disability Discrimination Act 1995
•Care Act 2000
•Ofsted

Then with each piece of legislation you display, briefly explain how it is met within your setting
Then, relate each one to an article from the UNCRC

Hope this helps
