Does anyone have an easy to make Gingerbread biscuit recipe that the children have used before ?
Many thanks |

Add melted syrup mixture and the beaten egg Mix together and knead into a ball Place the dough into a plastic bag & put in the fridge for 30 mins Roll out or press with hands until half cm thick Cut out with cutters Bake for 10 to 15 minus until they are golden brown Put on wire rack to cool Enjoy :D We make them at playgroup - in fact are making them tomorrow cut out as Pudsey to sell to the parents \ |
Thanks Sparky, I have a huge jar of syrup lying in my cupboard and no use for it. I'll make some gingerbread Christmas trees (we don't have a man shaped cutter).
|
This is great thanks, I'll be able to link one of the Christmas advent day resources to this thread now :highfive:

I'm off to make these now although I only have white sugar so they might be a little pale.
|
How did they turn out with the white sugar chell ?

They were fine, the colour wasn't any different to what I would expect gingerbread to be. They taste gorgeous, DH said I had excelled myself. :rotfl:
The mixture makes loads, I think I had three trays worth. I had to add more flour but I may have over done the syrup as I wasn't sure how to measure it to exactly a tablespoon. Its great as it can be handled and reshaped easily, some biscuit mixtures aren't as nice if they are over worked. |
Glad it was helpful. We made it on Friday and cut out Pudsey bear shapes. They sold really well.
I've just taken a batch out of the oven that i've just made.:D |
I am going to make a batch of ginger Christmas trees for DS school party on Tuesday. It will be far cheaper than buying Christmas themed cakes from the shops.

I'm just in the process of making this dough ready for my children to roll and cut ino Christmas shapes:
http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/t...bread-men.html The treacle has made it much richer/darker. I don't have cinnamon or ground cloves so used mixed spice instead. |
