Which story sack ?
Which story sack do you find the Children ask for most ?
Was it one you put together yourself or puchased as complete ? |
My lot come back time and again to 'The very hungry caterpillar'. I made it donkeys years ago and have replaced the book and bits and bobs over time, but it's still different children's favourite! :D

Hi, I'm new to all this.
What's a story sack????? Sue |
A fab learning tool for expanding children's enjoyment of books. :reading:
Pick a book place it in a sack/ bag with items relating to the book. Take the very hungry caterpillar for instance, you could put in a colouring picture of the life cycle of a caterpillar, play food of the items he eats, a model caterpillar or butterfly etc etc. I'd also love to try song sacks. Placing an item relating to the song/ nursery rhyme then the children take turns to pull an item out of the sack and they then have to guess the song. You don't need any expensive items, things could be homemade or things you may have at home or in the setting or even if your parents are really helpful they may be able to give/ loan you items. |
We did the hungry caterpillar story as a tasting session. We purchases all the items of food that the Hungry Caterpillar ate. The story and food was enjoyed by all, except for the pickled gerkins
