write a report on the importance of ensuring children and young peoples safety and protection in the work setting

hey, im stuck and dont know where to start with this...

explain why it is important to ensure children and young people are protected from harm in the work setting

describe the policies and procedures that are in place to protect children and young people and the adults who work with them

explain how practitioners can take steps to protect themselves within their everyday practice in the work setting during both on site and off site visits

reasearch, evaluate and explain ways in which concerns about poor practice can be reported, including protective measures for whistleblowers and those whose practice or behaviour is being questioned

Any help would be appriciated, i have no clue where to start, thankyou in advance :banghead: :hissyfit:

Have you got a safeguarding policy in your work place, that will give you some ideas of what to put.

why is it important to protect children from harm? well no child deserves to be abused or mistreated, all children should be treated fairly and its your duty to care for the children in your setting and if you think a child is in any danger or harm its up to you to do something about it, your policies should state the procedures of what to do. To protect yourself you ensure that your never alone with children always stick to ratios, during nappy changes keep the door open and if their is a issue where you think a child is at risk of harm tell your designated safeguarding officer straight away. parents could get frustrated or even angry their behaviour can change, you may be able to avoid this by making sure every new parent is aware of the safeguarding policy that's in place and that it is your duty of care to look after every child in your care if there are any concerns that a child is at harm then you could take it further without their consent, making them aware of the situation of what would happen BEFORE it happens will make it a much better situation for the parent and yourself.

This other thread might help you out as well.
