Can anyone help please? i've got to come up with a one day menu plan for a 9 month old baby, listing breakfast, lunch & dinner and any snacks & drinks. I've done one for a 3 & 5 year old which i found on children's food trust website. Does anyone know if you can blend/puree beef & vegetable enchiladas as that is the dinner i've got for the 3 & 5 year old. I've got to base it on a childminder, but finding it difficult as i work in a pre-school with 2 to 5 year olds!

Hi.
Well as long as the 9 month old is not allergic to any of the food, and if parents are ok with it preference wise, then I'm sure that will be fine.

Young babies are usually weaned at 6 months starting with foods such as blended vegetables and fruits. The next foods to be introduced are foods such as soft cooked meats, fish, rice, lentils and full fat dairy products such as custard and fromage frais.

For breakfast you could put ready brek/porridge or weetabix with the babies own milk.

For drinks water is the best option and some babies still have formula/breast milk at certain times of the day, bear in mind babies should not have cows milk until they are 12 months old due to not being able to digest it as easily as formula or breast milk.

For a snack blended or finely chopped up soft fruits such as bananas, pears and peaches are great healthy options.
