Have the children sitting in a circle. Place the large ‘Ark’ sign in the middle of your circle. Give each child an Animal card. Sing the song below As you sing ‘is it you’ - gently point to a child….. then sing ‘No? Then it must be you!’ point to another child, who then tells everyone what animal he/she/ is and waits for another child to say they also have that animal card.
(sung to ‘The Animals went in 2 by 2’)
The animals went into the Ark Hooray hooray.
The animals went into the ark Hooray hooray
In they went 2 by 2 .. 'is it you….. '
at this point choose a child at random from the circle.
‘No ? Then it must be you!’
Gently point to another child.
Ask them which animal card they have.
Tell everyone what card it is.
And ask the children who else has one the same.
(hopefully) another child will call out so that the pair of them can go and sit side by side on the Ark.. (in the centre of the circle!)
