|
|
You will need
|
|
1 - 2 tablespoons Glycerine - optional
1/4 Pint Water - to thin the soap mix

To Make your Bubble solution:
Gently mix together all the ingredients .. too fast with make it froth !!
If possible allow it to rest overnight .. the longer this solution is allowed to relax the thicker and higher quality it becomes - 2 days
For starting any play activities we would recommend beginning with a reputably branded solution - where the quantity of bubbles blown can match energy and expectation ..introduce our bubble recipe and its ingredients to Children and Adults showing how bubbles can be accessibly made at home or in the setting.
How the liquid varies in consistency, formation and responsiveness to those of any other commercially produced solutions used.

Establishing the Children's knowledge of blowing 'out and sucking 'in ....
To help make sure the Children don't suck the soapy solution instead of blowing it have a side tray of separate straws and tissue paper trees for them to play with prior to bubble blowing.
Using the straws or mouths encourage the action of blowing so that the tissue branches move around and sucking so that they 'stick to the end of the straw.
Emphasise the need to 'blow' outwards at the bubble mixture because sucking will not taste too good !!
For inclusion where blowing is a skill yet to be mastered have small battery, trigger operated blowers available and show how to move the bubble wands through the air to make bubbles ...
To help develop these skills - very slowly demonstate where the bubble wand should be positioned and what shape the mouth can take to help push the 'blow in a particular direction .. show how blowing too hard will break the bubble and a blow that is too soft will not be strong enough to push the air into the middle of a bubble .. |

Extend the activity for craft and add poster paint to the bubble mixture - blow and take prints using paper ..
For older children share bubble blowing by seeing who can gently catch and take on the bubble after it has been blown by someone else ..
Outdoor extension actions - blow, chase, catch and clap .. run, jump, watch..
Larger wands and bubble making tools can be used for more energetic play ..
DISPLAY AREA ideas:
Hang paint print bubbles over half a 'wooden barrel and use as pet bath time care display - laundry day clothes or as a more imaginative activity of a 'message bubble pool
GAME
Bubble colours:
Write the children's names on individual bubble circles and colour names on another matching amount ..
Taking turns, let each child and adult take out a name and a colour and ask the named person if they can find, and bring back an object in the room matching the colour pulled out ..
If time allows ask the Child what the item is and what it is used for, before placing in the centre of the game area.
Repeat the actions in reverse to have the items put back ... |
