Vocabulary building and communication skills are important abilities to focus on in early learning, within a role play scenario you can look at sequencing, past experiences and problem solving by introducing 'what if' type questions - take the activity further by using real pictures to reference and bring your conversation to life.
Left as a freeplay activity the Children can build confidence and reassurance in seeking adult input into what they want to do ~ or continue with their own cutting and mark making preferences.

The 4 Activity sheets in this set are:-

Cheese Mice ~ cut out & paste the mice into the holes of the cheese.
Do the children think mice do live in cheese - would they like to live in cheese .. what would it smell like ?

Giraffe's patterns ~ Spots or stripes on the Giraffe?
Have the children ever seen a giraffe before .. was it in a book, the zoo or may be a safari park ?
Can they make their own necks appear to grow longer ...

Scarecrow bits ~ Build a scarecrow.
What parts make up this scarecrow ... what parts do the children think their bodies are made from ?

Nessie ~ How many parts to the Lochness monster !
Above and Below are great opposites to focus on with this sheet .. which path do the children think Nessie's body takes under the water in order for it to join up - can they trace it with their finger?
