Let’s talk ……….
Display Catalogues, posters, pamphlets and other gift pictures on the activity table
along with your Left & Right handed scissors.
Use the Christmas stockings to hold the cut out pictures that the children have talked about.
They have probably already been asked ‘What would they like for Christmas’
so hopefully will have some suggestions to chat about as to why they choose it and what they will do with it if they do receive it !!

Exploring ...
Find out why they like that particular toy:
Does it do something special ?
Is it a favourite colour, shape or texture?
Who di they think will give them the item - family, friends or Santa ?
Can they find a picture of it inside the books?
What will they do with it if they get it?
Ride it, colour it, cuddle it , play with it ?
What is it made of ?
Plastic, wood, fabric ?
If the opportunity arises use a circle time to talk about everyones choices.
