1. Push the needle through the layers of fabric ..

 2. Hook the thread around the top of the needle ..

 3. Pull the needle through the fabric keeping the lower thread out of the way .. the thread should form the stitch ..
 

 4. Continue repeating these steps to build a line of 'linked stitches along the fabric edge ..

 5. Fill your shape with lavendar, toy filling, rice or other and use to decrate hand made cards, christmas trees, pot pourri bowls ..
