Each one consists of: 12 hand sized balls - 1 Plastic inflatable pool
A plastic storage box and fabric pull cord storage bag.
Play outdoors with a Throw ball set !
Once the pool has been inflated you can fill it with water or leave it empty!
Store the balls in the plastic basket some distance away from pool so the children have somewhere to select and then return them to.
Adding Interest
Use a foot pump to blow up the pool - let the children have a go, but supervise carefully ! Once they have become bored with a Aim, Throw & 'Pool Catch', extend the activity a little by introducing a Scoring game - Give each ball a value and add the total that each child suceeds in throwing into the pool. Add some small hoops inside the pool (works best with a little water for them to float on) & see if the children can aim their balls to land inside the middle of the hoops - again add a value to these areas and see which the child would like to aim for.
Laminating numbers printed on paper or card will float as markers. Alternatively ask an Adult to hold a Hoopla ring over the surface of the pool so that the children have to concentrate on throwing the ball hrough the hoop first & then watch to see if it lands in the pool !
Remember if you aren't a winner ... the children would love to make up a set between yourselves :-)
