Dollz and 'Dolling'
Personal Area of Interest:
If you've never heard of this then prepare to become captivated !

Mother Earth - Base - Bianca from - www.sparklingice.net

I discovered this hobby about 18 months ago and since then it has become a favourite way to ‘relax’, forget about everything else and pixel art draw to my heart's content!

Some might say that drawing for Silkysteps should be enough ………BUT there is just something about dolling that lets you ‘chill out’ and wind down!
And the nice thing about  pixel drawing is that anyone can be inspired to do it, there isn't an age or ability limit !!
Follow the doll's outline, read some tutorials on shading and 'hey presto' you're a designer!
My 13 yr old Daughter adores Dolling and it's something we can share together.
Some of her favourite website links are shown below along with a couple pieces of her art work.

Beware though - a recently expressed view on a B2B forum I visit - was SHOCK at the - 'naked bald dolls'!!
Thanks Del !!

So here's some more information on it ...

 What's it all about?
Dolling is a 'mouse clicking' past time that involves designing outfits on small doll bases.
All you need is a basic graphic program like 'Paint' or something more advanced like Paintshop pro, Corel, Adobe Photoshop etc.
Choosing a base doll - Visit the websites owned by the doll base designers & save them to your computer to work on at your leisure.
Colour in and add - accessories, hair, clothes and sometimes backgrounds!
 Rules

There are some courtesy rules that dollers are expected to follow.
 NO Frankindolling !!
Tthis means you must not use different parts of  dolls  made by different people and  then create a new one.
 'Credit your Base'
You base doll must always state/be credited to who made it.
Don't claim it as your own just because you 'dressed it'.

 Competitions
Competitions are held quite frequently in the 'Dolling world'! and they are great fun.
Again there is no age or ability limits... design and create a graphic that fits the title of the competition.
Read the rules and send in your entry!
Some competitions use real photos for your to enterpret in your own way and  take inspiration from.
