Going on a Plane is part of the Usborne Books first experiences range, which introduces young children to new situations in a friendly way using a story following a child through that event.
The illustrations by Stephen Cartwright are full of things for children to look at and talk about to help them learn.
The simple text enables slightly older children to read the books to themselves and there is the popular ‘yellow duck’ to spot on each page.
The books cover topics including a new baby, starting school, moving house and going to the hospital and come in two sizes the pocket size ‘mini editions’ as sold at Littlesheep Learning which is great for taking out and about and a larger standard size for easy sharing.
Going on a Plane is a fabulous book to help young children understand about going on a plane and to help prepare them to travel on one, it’s also a great tool to promote discussion for airport role play areas. It outlines the process of a going on a plane through the eyes of Tim and Rosie.
It shows the whole ‘process’ from packing, going to the airport, checking in, going through security, boarding the plane, taking off, the journey, landing and finally passport control and baggage collection.
